Nuclear Security Summit 2014
In 2014, the Hague had the honour to host the third nuclear security summit. Fifty-three countries, represented by presidents or prime ministers discussed how to deal with nuclear material. To name a few, Barack Obama and Angela Merkel were present.
The ministry of foreign affairs wanted something to make a lasting impression on the international community. They ordered a pitch for designers to design a cover for the complete hosting venue. The order was give “a modern twist to a dutch classic”, and also refer to the nuclear summit. This resulted in an ode to Escher in which a nuclear signs evolve into peace doves.
