Save the Koala’s
The lovely people of gumclub posted a drawing challenge with the word matchbox. It made me think of fire and we had a lot of that last month. It really breaks my heart to see the damage of the fires in Australia. I am worried about climatechange and what this will mean for the future.
While making this illustration my daughter was preparing a talk for school about the koala’s in Australia. So we learned some more about them. Did you know that they are great swimmers? And they never drink (koala means ‘not drinking’). When a koala is born it is as big as a size of a bean.
The sad thing is that they move slow on the ground so when the fire comes they clime higher up the trees. Hope they will be able to save the injured animals they found. And hope that the nature will recover soon.
